According to the BBC, “a mobile phone app is being developed to help patients living with pain caused by damage to their nervous system. The app hopes to play a part in achieving pain relief, for select patients.”
This mobile phone app will communicate wirelessly with neurostimulation systems to improve pain control. This video documents a novel neurostimulation therapy called dorsal root ganglion stimulation, which is FDA approved for the treatment of a neuropathic pain syndrome. This device is currently being used at Jax Spine and Pain Centers to treat patients with this crippling disease.
