Dr. Stephen Fierro

The foundational principle of chiropractic and rehabilitative services is that the body can heal itself when given the right tools and support. We’ll complete a complete evaluation discussing your symptoms and determining a custom treatment plan.
Dr. Fierro has extensive education, training, and experience treating patients with disk herniation, plantar fasciitis, and sciatica. Our process is patient focused to ensure everyone understands their conditions and options, and feels like they are part of developing their custom care plan.
Disc herniation, or slipped disc, is a common cause of back pain. Most people remember the exact moment of injury because it resulted in a sharp, shooting pain radiating into an arm or a leg. In severe cases, herniated discs can pinch on a nerve root, creating numbness, tingling, or weakness in the extremity.
People frequently use the following terms interchangeably to describe a herniated disc: slipped, bulging, ruptured, or protruding disc. This condition is often found in men between the ages of 30 and 50, but can occur in any population and age group.
When sciatica is left untreated and symptoms do not resolve on their own, you may be left with worsening pain and long-term complications.

Your foot is made up of three bony segments and your fascia is a thick tendinous tissue that runs from your heel bone into the ball of your foot. The plantar fascia provides support for your arch and absorbs shock and energy like a spring. It allows your foot to move efficiently when you take a step while walking or running.
A strong, flexible, and springy plantar fascia is needed for normal movement. Due to chronic micro tears of the fascia from repetitive stress, the thickened and degenerative tissue creates stiffness in your foot causing you to walk abnormally. Chronic degeneration of the plantar fascia will cause you to avoid moving your feet and add to your immobility and pain.
Sciatica is a medical term used to describe nerve pain that starts in your lower back and travels down into the back of your leg. It’s not just any low back pain, this lumbar radiculopathy, or pinched nerve, demonstrates specific signs and symptoms that a physician can identify after a thorough history and physical examination.
Sciatica is typically the result of compression of the nerve roots. This compression can happen from sitting in poor posture for a long time or lifting heavy objects incorrectly. You can irritate any or all of the individual nerve roots from L4 through S3 and experience pain, numbness or tingling, and weakness in either or both of your legs.
When sciatica is left untreated and symptoms do not resolve on their own, you may be left with worsening pain and long-term complications.

“I was training for a three-day triathlon event that was only four months away when I was injured. I was experiencing pain in the groin area that rendered me unable to run or participate in any high-impact sports. Running and sports activities are a way of life for me, so not being able to do what I love was difficult both physically and mentally. A friend of mine who was already seeing Dr. Fierro for sports-related injuries recommended that I go see him. Dr. Fierro was very friendly and professional– he asked many questions and listened intently to ensure that the right treatment plan was put into action. Because of Dr. Fierro’s treatments, I was able to complete all three days of the triathlon event and finish with the 3rd fastest time for females! Thanks Dr. Fierro.”

“I heard about Dr. Fierro from my CrossFit gym. Several members and coaches recommended him to me. I had been having back issues and not getting any better with my old chiropractor. I made the switch and Dr. Fierro is worth the drive! He has alleviated my leg issues and has now rolled into my new issue – shoulder problems. I really trust Dr. Fierro’s work and advice!”

“I was complaining to my father who lives in another state and he mentioned Active Release Techniques (ART) and that has helped him in the past. He is the one who found Dr. Fierro. I checked Dr. Fierro’s website and read up on ART treatments and thought I should give it a try since nothing else seemed to be working. I started care in his office in January 2016. I was able to get in right away. The staff is amazing! They are very nice and always smiling. Dr. Fierro is very knowledgeable, and was able to diagnose me relativity quickly. Dr. Fierro really took his time and talked me through what was going on with my back, and how he was going to treat me. I had my first treatment that first visit. He was able to get me pain free in just four treatments!
After eight treatments, I am back to my regular workout schedule and my back hasn’t felt this great in a long time. I am now on a maintenance schedule, and I can’t thank him enough!”
